WHAT IS METHOTREXATE 10 MG ?

Methotrexate interferes with the growth of certain cells of the body, especially cells that reproduce quickly, such as cancer cells, bone marrow cells, and skin cells. It is usually given after other medications have been tried without successful treatment of symptoms.

METHOTREXATE USES :

Methotrexate Tablets is used to treat certain types of cancer of the breast, skin, head and neck, or lung. It is also used to treat Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), Osteosarcoma, Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL), horiocarcinoma, chorioadenoma and gestational trophoblastic diseases, Mycosis fungoides (cutaneous T-cell lymphoma). Used in the treatment of breast, advanced head and neck, lung, and stomach cancers. Also used in non-cancerous conditions such as psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis

IMUTREX 10 MG COMMON SIDE EFFECTS :

vomiting, upset stomach; headache, dizziness, tired feeling; or blurred vision.

Stop using Imutrex and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • dry cough, shortness of breath; diarrhea, vomiting, white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips;
  • blood in your urine or stools; swelling, rapid weight gain, little or no urinating; seizure (convulsions);
  • fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms; pale skin, easy bruising, unusual bleeding, weakness, feeling light-headed or short of breath;
  • liver problems- nausea, upper stomach pain, itching, tired feeling, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes); or
  • severe skin reaction- fever, sore throat, swelling in your face or tongue, burning in your eyes, skin pain, followed by a red or purple skin rash that spreads (especially in the face or upper body) and causes blistering and peeling.

MEDICINE SAFETY INFORMATION :

Before taking Methotrexate, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.

Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease (such as pulmonary fibrosis), alcohol use, suppressed immune system, blood cell/bone marrow disorders, stomach/intestinal diseases (such as peptic ulcer, ulcerative colitis), any active infection (including chickenpox or recent exposure to it), folic acid deficiency.

Do not have immunizations/vaccinations without the consent of your doctor. Avoid contact with people who have recently received live vaccines (such as flu vaccine inhaled through the nose).

Methotrexate must not be used during pregnancy. It may harm an unborn baby.

Since this drug can be absorbed through the skin and lungs and may harm an unborn baby, women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not handle this medication or breathe the dust from the tablets.

Methotrexate passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this drug is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Store at 20° to 25°C (68° to 77°F)

DRUG INTERACTIONS :

Many drugs can interact with Imutrex. Not all possible interactions are listed here. Tell your doctor about all your medications and any you start or stop using during treatment with this medicine, especially:

  • azathioprine;
  • leucovorin;
  • phenytoin;
  • probenecid;
  • theophylline;
  • an antibiotic or sulfa drugs;
  • isotretinoin, retinol, tretinoin;
  • salicylates - aspirin, Nuprin Backache Caplet, Kaopectate, KneeRelief, Pamprin Cramp Formula, Pepto-Bismol, Tricosal, Trilisate, and others.
